EES

EES will be used throughout the course as an aid for solving equations, plotting trends, etc. Students should become familiar with either EES or some similar mathematical equation solving program (Mathcad, Matlab, etc.).

EES is installed on the MNE PCStudio computers in Reber Building.
To get an account on these computers, fill out a form outside of room 224 Reber, or on-line at MNE Computers .

Your own personal free copy of EES can be downloaded from Penn State's Angel website .

Useful_tips_for_copying_EES_to_Word_and_Excel.pdf - This is a pdf file with instructions on how to copy table data and plots from EES into Excel or Word.

Here are some EES example files that you may download. To download and use:

  1. Click on the desired file.
  2. Depending on your browser, whether from a PC or a Unix machine, and how it is configured, it will either launch EES or prompt you as to whether you wish to open the file or save it onto disk.
  3. If EES is loaded on your machine, choose the option to open the file. (You may have to browse to find the correct application.)
  4. If EES is not loaded on your machine, choose the option to save the file to disk or memory stick. You can then copy it somewhere else to run the file.
  5. Right-clicking on the file name works best on some browsers.
