The Mechatronics Research Lab takes a multi-physics, model-based approach to control and design of mechatronic systems, specializing in modeling, control, and design.
We have published over 200 technical publications in this area with graduate students, post-docs, and collaborators. Our research has been supported by almost $20M in research funding from NSF, NIH, AFOSR, ONR, Army, DOE, DOC, and industry. Our research currently concentrates in three areas: Smart structures, advanced actuators, and battery systems engineering.
