Four types of links are provided:
- Learning Modules -
Learning modules are short write-ups (similar to lecture notes)
about various topics.
These were written by Professor J. M. Cimbala at Penn State University.
- YouTube Videos -
Lesson videos (10-15 minutes) and short videos (2-3 minutes) about Excel, Math, and Fluid Mechanics.
These were created by Professor J. M. Cimbala at Penn State University.
- Miscellaneous -
Images and other items that are useful for this course.
- Other Websites -
Links to websites which provide data and other information useful to
students in this course.
Some of these were not written by Professor Cimbala. I apologize if
the site address changes - this is beyond my control.
Learning Modules - Background and Review Material
-
Dimensions, Units, Conversion Factors, and Significant Digits
- A general review of dimensions and units,
and the different unit systems (English vs. Metric).
This learning module is useful for any subject, not just fluid mechanics.
-
The Ideal Gas Constant
- A general review of the concepts of mol and molecular weight,
and the two forms of the ideal gas constant:
the universal gas constant and the specific gas constant.
-
Some Useful Conversions, Equations, and Constants
- Some conversion factors, especially for the troublesome variables
such as pound-mass and pound-force, etc.
-
Solutions of Ordinary Differential Equations
- A general review of how to solve simple ordinary differential equations.
This learning module is useful for any subject, not just fluid mechanics.
